Gallery’s New Exhibit Launches, FOUND:RE Phoenix Hotel Re-opens, October 1

PHOENIX (Sep. 25, 2020) — FOUND:RE Phoenix Hotel, located at 1100 North Central Avenue, and the adjacent FOUND:RE Contemporary Gallery are pleased to announce the launch of their newest exhibit “Portraits & Icons,” which coincides with the grand re-opening of the hotel on Thursday, October 1.

“We are thrilled to welcome back our hotel guests as well as our local and visiting art enthusiasts,” says Audrey Galat, art and culture curator for FOUND:RE Contemporary. “During this time we have spent countless hours updating our procedures to ensure our guests’ safety upon their return and also to enhance and heighten their overall experience with us whether they come to dine, stay, or simply peruse some incredible art.”

“Portraits & Icons,” is a collection of figurative art that celebrates the style and accomplishments of everyday people as well as the generations of the world’s most inspiring cultural icons. On display throughout the entire hotel in a wide variety of mediums, the exhibit showcases nearly one hundred works by artists including Kara Brooks, Matt Dickson, David Dauncey, Tal Dvir, Peter Farago, Fausto Fernandez, Jerome Fleming, Rigo Flores, Brian Goddard, Frank Gonzales, Lisa Von Hoffner, Maggie Keane, Harold Lohner, Qing Ma, Kris Manzanares, Iris Ortega, Joanna Proffitt, Gustavo Ramos, Chris Saper, Neil Schwartz, George Strasburger, Marilyn Szabo, Lucretia Torva, Chris Vena, Darrin Armijo-Wardle, Annie Waters, and Abe Zucca.

“Portraits & Icons,” runs through mid-February 2021; during that time new solo exhibitions will also be debuted in the FOUND:RE Contemporary Gallery. The first of which opens Saturday, October 17 (and runs for one month) and features the photographic art Lawrence Fung. The launch of this exhibit also coincides with the grand opening weekend of the new Match Market & Bar.

In keeping with local and national health recommendations for re-opening businesses, the FOUND:RE Phoenix Hotel and FOUND:RE Contemporary have implemented the strictest precautions to sanitize its facilities and provide on-site guidelines for social distancing and other measures. Guests are asked to wear a mask and observe current social distancing guidelines of six feet or more when visiting the property. The FOUND:RE staff regulates access to all parts of the property during regular gallery hours and asks for guests’ understanding and continued support in keeping the community healthy and safe.

With the re-opening of FOUND:RE Contemporary and FOUND:RE Phoenix Hotel comes a new cycle of exhibits, initially launched in February 2020, based on a 360-degree view of arts and culture that includes all of the traditional mediums of art such as painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, fiber art, printmaking, as well as video, fashion, performance, music and more. The FOUND:RE Contemporary art program is produced in partnership with Artlink, Inc.,a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to connecting the arts, business and community.
